Shark Cycle Stafford Springs Connecticut Compliment - Warning- Improper and Unprofessional Installation of Parts!!!!!!
STAFFORD SPRINGS, CONNECTICUT -- On August 26 2010 I purchased a Polaris sportsman 550 quad along with a Polaris snow plow. On September 4 2010 the quad was delivered to my home with plow installed. Around the third week of January 2011 and after only several uses of the plow I had noticed a problem with the plow frame being crooked. After a further inspection of the plow frames underside I had noticed that the frames metal had been ground down almost to catastrophic failure. At this point I contacted shark cycles service department and spoke with the manager Todd. When I first informed Todd of the problem he stated that I just had to adjust the springs on the quad, so then I had told him that his company installed the plow and asked him if they had done that and if the part was under warranty. Todd immediately stated that the part was not covered under warranty and that the problem must be due to user error. Realizing I wasn't going to get help from Todd I decided to try and contact the owner Bob. I spoke with Catherine who is the president of the company and I believe bobs wife and explained my situation. Catherine stated that she would personally give Bob the message and he would return my call that day.
After sending over pictures of the damaged part and four days of phone calls trying to get in touch with bob he finally accepted my phone call. During that phone conversation Bob also stated that it was due to user error and there was nothing they could do unless I brought the quad to them and paid for the part or sell me the replacement part at a small discounted rate plus shipping totaling 215.50. Realizing that I was unable to get the quad to there store which is a hour and a half drive I decided to purchase the replacement part and install it myself. After installing the frame the frame was still resting on the ground just like the original frame and I was still unable to use the machine or it would do the same damage.
At this point I sent over pictures to bob of the new frame resting on the ground and asking him what can be done. After no response from shark cycle after three days I decided the make the adjustment which should of been done originally and by a professional the plow frame now sat almost two inches off the ground and could be used without causing damage. At this point I informed bob threw email of my situation and requested a refund for the part because during the instillation the proper adjustments were never made. Bobs response was that he wasn't going to refund my money and to never contact his company again. Please help I feel very taken advantage of and don't believe any company should treat customers the way I have been treated. I have tried to contact bob and settle this matter but bob isn't willing to help at all.. Bob has even gone as far as to hang up on me during phone conversations.
