Kendall Lexus of Eugene Oregon Complaint - Defective 2009 Lexus RX 350

Review by tuna12 on 2011-03-05
EUGENE, OREGON, OREGON -- I bought a brand new 2009 Lexus RX 350 from Kendall Lexus in Eugene Oregon. After taking delivery of the car I noticed a problem with the transmission.

Frequently when the transmission shifts from 1st gear into 2nd gear it slips, the engine revs up about 1000 rps and then catches into 2nd gear.

I contacted Kendall Lexus In Eugene Oregon and talked to the service manager. He informed me this was a factory defect in the transmission chip and he had told the sales people to notify potential buyers of this problem. I took the vehicle in and had him inspect it and was informed there was nothing he could do until Lexus made a new replacement chip.

I contacted Lexus customer care @ 1-800-255-3987 option # 3 and was told there is nothing that Lexus can do. I paid over $41,00 for a defective Lexus that they were aware of it being defective when they sold me the car. I want the car fixed.

Is there anything someone could do to help me?

Try this site. There are other Lexus owners, who may be able to guide you in the right direction.

Check the Lemon Laws in your State.

Did Customer Care support the dealer's claim that the problem is related to the transmission chip? If yes, that is clearly poor automotive engineering, especially from a high-end manufacturer such as Lexus.

This is a very informative review.
