Delta Airlines Complaint - Lost Baggage and Baggage Claim
ALABAMA -- I flew Delta out of Gulfport, MS Regional Airport December 10th, 2010 to attend my son's graduation in PA. I flew into State College, PA. On the return home, my luggage was lost. My nephew and I flew back (16th due to delay from bad weather) with 4 pieces of luggage. My main piece of luggage was lost. I completed the report at the Delta Customer Service Desk before leaving. This has happened before so I thought I would receive my luggage at least by the next day. Someone was at home and would have been there to receive it. I had to initiate all of the telephone contact and encountered horrible service like I had done something wrong to them. A female called me the next afternoon and I thought her communication was very odd, no specific information; and I thought my luggage was being delivered; never happened. I called Gulfport Regional Airport (again trying to track down my luggage, like 2-3 days later or so);and was told his research showed my luggage was flown to the airport in Mobile and was probably lost. If someone had called me I would have willingly picked my luggage up from the airport. Delta's reply to my Lost Baggage Claim was an email reply (again to my follow up) stating I had received my baggage, and included was a $100 voucher. I could not breathe for a few seconds. Whenever I called the customer service reps were very sarcastic, and I am not exaggerating. Delta has never called me. Basically they are telling me (a customer) I am lying.
Why would they think I received my luggage when clearly I did not receive it? Completing a claim is worse than taxes with them. Why won't someone do something about Delta Airlines and their horrible customer service. I have spent countless time trying to first track down my luggage, and now get compensated from Delta Airlines. What is wrong with this picture? Why can't we reach a supervisor, manager or executive to hear our problem (s) with Delta?
Do they not know if customers did not use their airline, they would not have a business and not make money? My claim is not thousands of dollars, but it is my belongings that I worked hard to consume. This is unbelievable to me for a company this size. I pray for these people. I want my luggage back, or I want my claim to be paid. This is stealing from their customers.
