Samaritan Village Complaint - Inadequate Treatment

Review by Joinnow45167 on 2011-03-08
It has come to my attention that the Alcohol/drug abuse treatment program lacks actual 1 on 1 client to Dr, Therapist, MAC, MSCW is lacking or missing. Frequent leaves/passes without toxicology/urine screening or breath analysis upon return. Clients passes with other clients on 4-24hr passes are not evaluated on a persons alcohol/drug use or relapse history.

'Loved' ones who actually support clients are cutoff. Caseworkers who are not Dr's, Therapists, MAC or MSCW's, push just for vocational training are prevalent, (get the client out the door). Many push for Samaritan's halfway houses in the city, where the client has no support only other addicts and alcohol abusers. There is a total lack of supervision. Upon visit most clients do the work of staff. The need for the 'INTERMINGLING' of the sexes needs to be addressed, again, Lack of adequate supervision. Some of these clients need psychiatric evaluation and care, here again the case worker comes into play. And the focus is put back on vocation and not rehabilitation.! Look online for other complaints, there are similar.

Clients are not encouraged to work through and face there 'issues' with again, DR, MAC, MSCW's. Addicts and alcoholics are master liars, no disrespect intended. This is an unfortunate truth, and many will relapse and die as a result. I hope something such as OASAS, Department of mental health and other governing agencies read this, and take this very seriously. Alcohol/addiction's are killing are society. And this is in all Samaritan's facilities, Ellenville being the hugest violator...

Send a copy of this complaint to the agencies you posted.

Though, I'm not really sure exactly what this complaint is about. Were you there as a patient, and the program failed for you or did you fail the program?
