Best Buy Complaint - Credit Card
I purchased a computer for my daughter in Nov. 2010, charging $800.00. There was a special promotion at the time of no interest no payments for 18 months, or so I thought. Apparently there was a minimum payment due each month of $10.00. Due to an oversight on my part, no payments were made. When I reviewed my billing statement I saw that there were additional fees for late charges and interest totalling $75.32. I called Best Buy to explain that I was not aware of any minimum payments due and asked if they would remove the charges. I said that I would make any past minimum payments due and that I would abide by their terms of making minimum payments in the future. I was treated very rudely and told that there was nothing that they could or would do. I asked to speak to a supervisor or someone who could make a decision. The supervisor said that they could not help me and I asked to speak to someone higher up. They transferred my call to their higher up, their collection agency. I was shocked that this had been turned over to their collection agency since I had made the purchase such a short time ago. I called Best Buy back again and asked to speak to their complaint department. They gave me a number to call and when I did it turned out to be a sex hot line.
I could not believe it and doubled checked to make sure I had not mis-dialed. Apparently Best Buy does not have a complaint department and their personal are not trained very well. Is this a company that you would like to do business with? I know that I won't be doing business with them again!
