Wells Fargo & Company Complaint - Wells Fargo Financed Patio Furniture
First of all let me state that I am a 50 y. o. male that has not been late with a payment to anybody for a very long time.
I purchased some patio furniture from a store in the Dallas area that had a one year no interest special. As I have excellent credit the process took no time at all.
I have been paying on the furniture for the last 11 months. My latest bill in the mail indicated that they tacked on a $25 late penalty. To dispute the charge you have to send a hand written letter through snail-mail (this is by design I'm sure to discourage people from doing it) which I did. I enclosed a screen-grab of my e-mail inbox which indicated the receipt of my payment, every payment I had made within a few days of each other every month. I'm not entirely sure when my due-date is (that's something else which is not available, again I think by design) because that information is not available on their website. I pay online through their website but details about my account aren't really available, just a payment screen and a history of my payments.
I have been paying every month as I said within a few days of each other. The month that they indicated I was late was not even the latest I've paid on the account. I paid the 16th on the month they say I was late and months prior to that I paid on the 19th, and no charge.
So I sent the complaint about three weeks ago and asked for a final bill minus the charge as the year was almost up anyways and I was down to my final payment. I received a letter that said they were investigating. I sent my last payment the other day, actually more than my last payment because I didn't know what my total bill is at this point I just sent my usual payment because I sure didn't want to get caught short.
The company I bought the furniture from was Chair King but I've also done business with Discount tire which also financed through Wells Fargo. I don't think I'll be using Wells Fargo again as they are clearly underhanded.
So now I wait.
