Side By Side Refrigerator - Complaint
As I was reading other complaints about Whirlpool, I seen a reply from the customer service department stating that they hope customers don't expect a warranty on a five year old appliance. I do expect my Whirlpool appliances to last at least 10 years. Making appliance purchases are a big purchase for a home. Do I expect to pay some money for repair on my side by side refrigerator that is currently not working that is 5 years old. Yes. However, I don't expect to pay 1/2 of the cost of a new product for parts and labor. Why is it that companies don't make products like they use to- that hold up for years. My parents had a Whirlpool fridge that just went kaput 2 years ago and it was about 18 years old. Do companies not take pride in the quality of their products anymore? Don't they realize that using the cheapest materials does not buy customer satisfaction in the long run? Currently my side by side fridge is not working right. The freezer is not defrosting and the refrigerator side is too warm. Yes, my appliance is 5 years old. I am hoping that I will not have a problem getting it fixed as seen on this complaint forum.
