Lexmark International Group Informative - Printer X5650 - Faulty Paperfeeder

Faulty Paperfeeder
Review by Lovepomdogs on 2011-03-16
My husband bought me a Lexmark x5650 at Walmart. He thought the price was great for an all-in-one. Now we know why!! After two weeks the paperfeeder started taking three pages at a time, then started eating them!!! Tech support was very helpful, it is a problem with most of this model. They replaced the printer and guess what (same problem)!!! I am now on my second replacement model but who knows how long it will work for. I read online that Walmart commonly buys large lots of discontinued electronics and sells them cheaply because the manufacturer has problems with them.

In summary, tech support is great for this company but this particular model is a dud!!!

Had a Lexmark-what a piece of garbage. Ink was sucked up by printer and had to be replaced way too often. Get a Canon Pixma all in one, reasonable and does the job correctly - or, ours has.

Best I could tell, your experience is generally typical with Lexmark. They are known for great tech support and lackluster all-in-one printers. I have a X7675, and I did research it ahead of time. The software is quirky and made my computer hang before they came up with a patch, my computer has booted slowly ever since install (tried unistalling and didn't go away), the print is blurry on my second cartridge (can't align for some reason).

Overall, I am happy that I have one piece that I have used for scanning, printing and faxing. But I'd pay twice as much for a better machine.

AZ, I just recently bought Canon Pixima Wireless printer for $50 at Office Depot and love it!

The first time you set up your wireless printer you only need to connect to USB one time, and it'll be wireless forever. Even when you format the harddrive, you can directly connect to it wirelessly.

I have a lexmark that does the same thing. I decided to take it apart to see what was happening. I discovered that the feed roller rides on a spring assembly that is not very strong. after doing some experimenting I found that if you keep the feed try limited to about 20 sheets of paper it will feed correctly. if have over 25 it starts to jam. so I think its related to the feed arm roller design. I know its not much help, but put about 15 blank sheets in the feeder and see if jams when you print. I'm betting it does not. I can you this much, after I run out of ink I'm dumping the printer.. gota go look at that pixma I think.

lol I have the MP560 wireless. I love it. The best part, is having the seperate ink cartridges, so if you get low on one, you only have to buy that one versus having to buy a whole new color cartridge wasting all the other ink colors inside of it. It also seems to last a lot longer, and best part, I can get them dirt cheap on Ebay!

I had a brother ink jet all in one printer that lasted me 5 years and still would be going strong if I could afford the ink refills. I'm not working and it gets pretty costly for ink. I now have a brother laser printer that has been going for almost 6 months on the ink cartridge that came with it. My daughter prints alot for high school and ROTC, as she is member of staff. I highly recommend Brother printers as they also have awesome CS too.
