Florist Express Informative - Run Away! - Floral

I ordered the flowers from their websited at 2 P.M. ET on 03/16. Website states that they guarantee same day delivery if order is received by 3 P.M. ET. I paid $85 (with extra fees for same day delivery). I received a phone call at 5 P.M. that they can send these flowers the following day because their local florist no longer deliver. I LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA!!!! You mean to tell me that there is not one florist who would deliver at 2 P.M. or later???? AND, where am I supposed to find a florist now at 5 p.m.? Thanks for bending me over and screwing me.

Oh, and no, these flowers cannot be sent the next day....today is the birthday, not tomorrow. BAD.....please stay, unless you'd like more aggravation in your life.

Granted they promise delivery times up until 3:00pm, but if the birthday was that important, I probably would've allowed myself more leeway than putting in the order 1-hr before the deadline. Sort of like the individuals that slip-in a restaurant 15-30 minutes before closing. While technically you can, it's better to plan ahead. Better luck in the future!

DIRM, if the website promises same day delivery if ordered by 3pm, then they need to live up to their promise.

If you are in Philadelphia, and the flowers were to be delivered locally, could you have called a local florist (earlier)? I always try to use a florist local to the delivery, even if it is a long distance phone call. I'm sorry they didn't live up to their promise.

Maybe they were working, maybe they were waiting for money to be deposited to their account. That's not the point of the review. Florist Express failed to live up to their promise. Valid complaint!

I looked at the website. Their "guarantee" is that if you aren't satisfied, they will deliver another day or give you a refund. How useful if they "ruin" your special day.

I am reminded of dog brokers, who sell poorly bred dogs with the guarantee they will replace a dog if you present vet bills, etc that prove a birth defect, etc. Worthless, because most people won't return an animal.

The best defense in both (far different) cases, is do your research first. You complaint should help others.

I'm a firm believer in ordering from a local florist directly as well but on occasion that is not an option. First of all you might not know the name of a local florist in that area to call and secondly you have no idea what their quality of work is unless you get a recommendation. Who are you going to get a recommendation from?

At one time one called his local florist, placed an order and that florist took it from there. Those days are probably over completely but it was nice knowing you wouldn't be embarrassed with the arrangement. Florists pay a dear price to belong to one of those groups so that organization best weed out the ones that cause problems or the florists should find themselves another group to join.
