Wood & Aluminum-Clad Sliding Patio Doors & Screens - Complaint
I have been trying to get an issue resolved since 2006 for sliding doors manufactured in 1999 and purchased in 2000. These are supposed to have a 10year warranty... They leak, the weatherstripping falls out, the cladding slides down and the screens fit so loosely that they let all of the bugs in...
The doors leak, they have finally decided, right before the warranty was up, because maybe we don't have the right pitch on the back of our house...WRONG !!! They re-glued the cladding for the second time and this time, put a nail in the side of the door to hold the cladding on and at one point, after I exhausted all of my resources trying to find screens that were of a decent depth to actually fit in the track of the doors and keep the bugs out, told me they would custom-make them.
Not knowing if they would replace the doors or come up with a fix, I delayed a few seasons ordering the screens...
Obviously, I cannot afford to purchase 5 more new sets of sliding doors, and they will not hold up to their bargain on the warranty, so I called to order the 5 screens they were going to custom make.
Guess what....NOW THEY CAN'T DO THAT ANYMORE!
Five sliding patio doors, 2 half-moon windows, 1 bay window and 10 standard windows later, I would NEVER purchase anything from them again.
My mom had a similar cladding problem with one of her Anderson and guess what...they replaced her whole sliding patio door system. That is where I will shop from now on...CUSTOMER SERVICE REALLY COUNTS TO SOME PEOPLE !!!
