Lowe's Complaint - Very Unknowledgeable Salespeople
WEST HAZLETON, PENNSYLVANIA -- We went shopping for carpeting at Lowe's last summer. This was the first time we went carpet shopping, and weren't sure what would work best for us. They asked us where we were putting it and how many people and animals were in our home. We told them it was in our front door area, living room, steps, and landing upstairs. We also told them that we currently had 2 adults, one child, and were soon getting 2 dogs. They recommended a particular carpet. 2 months after buying the carpet (and expensive padding, as recommended), the carpet looked like it was 10 years old. We only had one dog at this point. After calling Lowe's, we went through about 5 months of playing phone tag with them, having the carpet inspected, & professionally cleaned (which we still haven't been reimbursed for). The cleaner told us that Lowe's never should have sold us this carpet. It is meant for low traffic areas, such as a bedroom or attic. When we told Lowe's this, their response was "It's hard to define high-traffic". That was the assistant manager (Caves) who said that. They basically told us we're on our own. We waited years to buy new carpeting, and are now stuck with an awful looking product. Their salespeople know absolutely nothing. I have since talked to several people who can vouch for this also. The customer service is terrible. Someone would tell us they'd get back to us "first thing tomorrow", and after a week, we'd have to call them. When we did, they were conveniently never there!
