Tempur-Pedic Complaint - Tempur-Pedic Mattress Complaint

BEWARE in buying a Tempur-pedic mattress. No matter what they proclaim, no matter what the ads say, this mattress will leave you disappointed and wanting more. The longer you sleep on the mattress, the more you sink into it until finally you are being smothered by the blankets. There are no box springs - only 2 pieces of plywood.

If you call customer service before buying the mattress set, they promise you the moon. After purchase they leave you high and dry.

We bought a Tempur-Pedic Rhapsody bed exactly a year ago and I love it! I will admit at that first, I was not impressed and it didn't feel nearly as comfortable as the floor model. Not to mention, I'm 105lbs and hardly make a dent on the thing! But after sleeping on it for a year, I love it! I don't need nearly as many blankets during the winter as I did when we had a pillow top and maybe its because I'm small, but I don't have issues with the bed creating a "heat pocket" as others complain of. Also, it took sleeping on my parent's guest bed, my daughters bed and several hotel beds before I fully appreciated my tempurpedic. I find that wake up stiff if I don't sleep on my tempurpedic. And probably one of the best things is, when my 17lb cat lays on my hip, I hardly feel it, where as on the pillow top, I had to move him off me after a 5 minutes because my hip would start to ache!

I have a TempurPedic Cloud Supreme ES and I hate it. I bought the mattress, the pillows, even that ugly little TempurPedic bear they were going on and on about until my kids HAD to have one. (It was for a good cause though). It is sooooooo hot I have to put the bedding on the floor and just use one thin top sheet with as little clothing as possible, ceiling fan on full blast. I sink down into this hole every night and find myself too tired to fight my way out. It smells funny too. I remember when I was a kid I got a Barbie Airplane and the new plastic/vinyl smell when I opened the box was overwhelming. It reminds me of that. This was definitely not one of my wiser purchases. I rate it right up there with my Kirby vacuum cleaner.

Memory foam traps heat. That is all a tempur-pedic is. My wife and I got rid of a memory foam queen and got a latex topped king and it doesn't trap heat at all. I am a very hot sleeper and am always comfortable on the latex.

These are some interesting comments. Is there a difference between Rhapsody and Cloud Supreme ES? Blue's description would stop me from buying a Tempurpedic. I could never sleep under those conditions. I have a memory foam pillow, and although it does get softer in the summer, I can't really say that it traps heat. My head never really sinks into the pillow, it just gets a little flatter.. the pillow, not my head. And it has no smell at all.
