Moen Complaint - No Mas Moen - Moen Faucets

Review by no moen on 2011-03-18
NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO -- What do you get when you spend $219 for a moen faucet?

It looks pretty. And ours turned out to be pretty junky.

I am not a home repair guy. If someone tells me my television needs a new carburetor I have to go on line to check out the advice.

That's why I bought a "quality" faucet to begin with. I didn't want (or expect) problems.

I did get a quality product. Unfortunately the quality was about as reliable as the cubs winning the world series.

Just over one year from purchase and I had a leak. Not exactly as advertised.

So I had a plummer out to take a look. Defective part. Thank goodness for that lifetime guarantee.

Turns out that the guarantee is to make sure that moen doesn't have to do muchthat helps.

You can get the part replaced.

Big deal. I just paid a plummer to replace the part. But they won't cover that expense.

I have the actual receipt from the puchase of the faucet. But I am not going to get my money back.

Not exactly satisfaction in my opinion.

Writing this at least makes me feel better, and might spare someone else from buying into the guarantee promise.

I know that I have bought my last product from this company. And will be glad to tell my friends.

But if you do end up buying moen anyway, there is some consolation.

If you end up replacing it you can hang in on a wall.

After all, it is pretty.

It seems like Moen would replace the part as part of their lifetime gaurentee, but you had already replaced the part. If that's the case, then I wouldn't expect Moen to do much except maybe send a part to replace the defective part. It won't do you any good now since you got it fixed, but I can't imagine that Moen's gaurentee is to pay 3rd party services to replace their products at any cost.
