My mother-in-law uses a lot of sugar free jello and pudding to make pies and I think it all tastes off. It is disappointing when something that looks so good doesn't taste good :(

I had a health nut colleague once who got into a "sugar-free" mode. He found a bunch of recipes and was whipping up all kinds of stuff. He was proud of his creations, and brought them into work to share with others.

I'll never forget when he gave a sample of his chocolate cheesecake, which I had already sampled, to another colleague I was sitting with. I watched as he took the first bite, and sure enough he recoiled in horror.

I eat smaller portions now, but use full fat and sugar when I bake.

I used to wake up in the middle of the night with one thought on my mind. Cheesecake. Made many a midnight run to Jack In The Box for a slice. Couldn't get back to sleep until the craving was satisfied.

I can fully understand dietary restrictions calling for sugar free everything. To me there is a noticeable difference. I also don't put skim milk in a recipe calling for whole milk. Thanks Justice for those wanting to give that one a try.
