NCO Financial Systems Complaint - NCO Paypal Problem - NCO-Paypal problem
Yet another saga of Paypal using NCO harassment to try to collect a debt that isn't really a debt.
In brief: I bought an item on eBay. Paid for it using a credit card via Paypal. The seller vanished. I never got the item. I filed several buyer complaints with Paypal, but they couldn't recover any funds. (Big surprise.) I did a chargeback. Now NCO is constantly leaving messages on my answering machine. They have my name wrong. Based on another phone message I got, I think they even tried to send me a FedEx, but they also have my address incorrect! (A word of thanks to whoever made these advantageous clerical errors.)
All things considered, should I ignore the whole thing, or should I send a general dispute/prove it/stop calling me letter? They don't even have my info correct. That doesn't give me great confidence that they can meet their burden of proof or ding my otherwise perfect credit.
I'll dispute this so-called "debt" to my grave and even go to court if I have to since it's not even a debt! It's fraud.I paid for merchandise that I never received! I'm just being punished for a chargeback to Paypal. That being the case, if it comes down to it I'd rather go to court and even pay a lawyer than give NCO or Paypal a single cent.
Any advice? I don't want to gamble with my credit but I don't know which course of action would be better, ignore or send a letter.
