Hollister Complaint - Gift Returned With A Gift Receipt

I wanted to return the merchandise to get the store credit with a gift receipt and the cashier returned to the original credit card even though I specially requested that it's a gift. I called the customer service, emailed them, talk to the manager to stop the transaction and resolve this issue.

Horrible customer service. Nobody even tried to help. Horrible horrible...

To return money to a credit card, don't they normally have to have the card used? In instances like this where it was a gift and I obviously don't have the card the item was purchased with, most stores will give you store credit. Not the most ideal, but better than nothing.

That definitely doesn't sound right. Have you talked to the gift giver to make sure the return was made to their credit card?

I have returned things and the credit has gone back to my card without them scanning my card or seeing my card. Some stores can do this and some can't. When they scan the barcode, the credit card number is known to the computer and the credit goes back to my card. In this case, I don't know why they wouldn't give you store credit.
