United Airlines Complaint - United Business Sucks
My wife and I elected to fly business class from New York to Bangkok in March 2011 and paid $9,549.20 (for both tickets) for the privilege. We wanted more room, better food and the tranquility of the business class lounge. Usually there are "complimentary" food and beverages and certainly a business center with a usable PC in a business class lounge. Not necessarily with United. At the lounge in La Guardia the only food was cereal and toast and some canned non-alcoholic beverages and no PC. The rest of their lounges were just as shabby. The worst was at San Francisco where they have the gall to charge for drinks and food, e. g., Caesar salad for a mere $9. They distribute menus on the plane but don't count on getting what they offer. The cabin attendants take your orders according to how much you paid for your ticket so if someone across the aisle paid $10 more for his ticket, he gets priority. You have to make three choices, being aware that if they don't have enough, you get your second or third choice. Some things have to be "preordered" 24 hours in advance only they don't tell you that 24 hours in advance. Twice we got things that we not only didn't want, we found them to be inedible. There's more, all bad. When it comes to business class, use another airline.
