Amazon/Kindle Compliment - Great Customer Service

Review by BEJ on 2011-03-23
I purchased my 3rd generation Kindle back in July of 2010. I noticed this past weekend a crack forming in the corner of the unit housing.

I called Amazon today and they are gong to overnight me a new Kindle and a prepaid shipping label to send back the cracked Kindle.

Have an update: Kindle delivered today as promised. Happily reading or will be once I transfer content.

Wow that is service. I have heard lots of great things about the Kindle. Whenever I get more time to read I am going to pick one up.

that's great. I still have the 1G Kindle, but it still works. I probably won't get to upgrade until the wi-fi version goes below $100.

Nice to hear. I have the Kindle 2. No trouble with it yet but it is great to know they stand behind their products!

Best Buy (and others) would have without question blamed you for damaging the unit. Amazon continues to blister electonics sales at the expense of the brick and morter. Bravo to you and them!

I have the first gen kindle and love it. It has held up to a lot of travel and abuse. It is great if all you want is book reading. I recently purchased a Color Nook and love it as well. I don't use the Nook as a book reader though, I installed Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) on it and now run it as an inexpensive tablet. I have the kindle app on it so I can use it when I need a backlit screen. I plan on posting a review of my Android run Nook soon, once I have a bit more time playing with it.

I purchased the Kindle when it first came out and loved it.

I decided to purchase the 3rd generation last summer because of all the new features/memory it had compared to my 1st generation. I wish it would come out in color but I love it as it is.
