Home Depot Compliment - Finding the right carpet!
LAWTON, OKLAHOMA -- In November of 2010, we had a sewer leak that destroyed the carpet and padin our living room, hallway and two small closets. I needed to make repairs first, and on December 30th, I went looking for new carpet. We had already installed Beauliew of America carpet in one room and we loved it. We wanted the same kind of carpet and pad for the living room. While I could not find the EXACT match, Stacy helped me find a close 2nd. I couldn't order at that time, so I took a sample of the carpet with me and got a quote that is good for 30 days.
Three weeks later, I was ready to order carpet. I go back in and see Stacy, and she looks at the quote. She tells me that the carpet I have picked is no longer available as of January 1st and, unbeknownst to me, my quote had been cancelled! What? So, at first, I look for another replacement carpet by Beaulieu of America and not finding what I wanted in terms of color, started looking at everything else. Nothing even comes close to this color (Nutmeg) or the price ($1.88 a sf) - I am a little panicky because the slate looking vinyl flooring in the kitchen had already been laid, and the nutmeg color of the carpet is perfectly paired with the vinyl.
Stacy, sensing my panic, called Customer Service at Beaulieu of America and see if they have any of this carpet in stock still. She confirms that this item, while not available through H-D right now, is still in stock with them. I immediately pay for 52 square yards of material. A little backwards, but I wanted to secure the product. Stacy also got the estimator out to the house for estimated installation within an hour, and the carpet arrived 10 days later, even though I was told March 1st.
Stacy went above and beyond the call of customer service, and got me exactly what I wanted for the house. I couldn't be happier.
I am not including the installation fiasco here, since this is about Home Depot and not about their subcontractors.
