Mealey's Furniture Complaint - Very Bad Return Policy and poor customer service
FEASTERVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA -- After purchasing an entertainment center from their, packaged in a large box, I picked it up from the Morrisville, PA warehouse. The outside of the box said it was the wrong color and unfortunately made in China. I asked the loading person to make sure it was the right color so he opened the box and showed me a panel that it was indeed cherry colored and not regular oak colored as marked on the box. I took the box home happily, but didn't unload it as I was busy with a few things. Meanwhile my wife spotted something she liked better so we opted to return this item. Here's where the surprise came in, openbox/restocking fee even though it was business day later and never actually pulled out of the box.
Most companies, when push comes to shove waive these things, but Mealey's decided this was their policy. I spoke to their manager and VP as I really didn't think it was right and pointed out we had purchased other furniture from the past and this decision was likely to preclude us from buying from them again. They stuck to their guns and I stuck to mine. So here is my complaint and may you enjoy the $30 you got to keep.
Showroom looks nice, but beware of customer service, return policies and the ACTUAL quality of items... let alone the fact you have to goto their Warehouse to get some items somedays (what a waste of time that was)...
