Wells Fargo Financial Complaint - Credit Card payment options - repayment of products and services

repayment of products and services - Complaint
Review by isisqueen52867 on 2011-03-25
Wells Fargo Financial is NOT a customer friendly company, they do not offer the customers a repayment option, moreover they charge a $10.00 fee if you pay over the phone. With the current economy, people are losing their jobs, unemployed or people that want to HONESTLY pay off their bills. Rhe consumer needs a company that works with them and not against them it makes someone who is unable to pay at the beginning of the month be in debited to them.

I think that the bank has a totally different view of this. You are indebted to them as soon as you charge a purchase, not just at the due date. If I were the bank, I would expect that a customer would stop charging items if they were experiencing cash flow issues.

Once the items have been charged, the contract between the bank and the customer comes into play. Unless the account must be paid in full on the due date, that contract allows for a "payment plan," but only in the form of interest.

Since I am not that rich, i do not use a credit card. If you can not afford the payments, then you can not afford a card. I am having financial difficulties but know if i had a card, i would be tempted to spend more than i can afford.

It would be great if companies could work with people (some do), but not all are obligated to do so. My bank has been very nice to help me out a time or 2 when i had problems with my account, but you can't depend on them to work out a repayment plan, when they want their money. Its about business to them. If they helped everyone, they would go broke. If you are a notorious person who's always late with bills, they are less likely to help with a repayment plan. I know my mom had bad luck with wells fargo, so i've avoided going there.

You don't have to be rich to have a credit card, if you have good willpower, only buy things that you need, and buy within your means.

I never, *ever*, think "I'll just buy this, and figure out how to pay for it later." It simply won't happen. If I had no money, and had a credit card, I can't say for sure what I would do. I think I would put it in a drawer, for a day when I did again have money. My concern would be, as it always is, "how will I pay next month's bill?" So I would switch to cash so I would be sure to buy within my means at all times. If I needed a loan, I would seek out a family member.

Uh wait?
Are you sure that the fee to pay by phone from a debit/credit card was from your bank, not a processing fee from whomever you were paying?

Or were you paying your own bank by phone from another account? That sounds like a simple funds transfer in that case. What is a "repayment option"?

Sorry, I'm not totally understanding the issue here. Anyway, Chase (which should be available if you are near a Wells Fargo) offers free checking and savings accounts. Helpful if you weren't going to be getting a ton of interest anyway.

With the current economy, people who are in danger of losing their jobs and those who are unemployed probably ought to seriously think about being discretionary in using their credit cards in the interest of CTA.
