Habitat for Humanity Restore Compliment - Tool lending

Review by Bob on 2011-03-27
The Habitat for Humanity Restore in Santa Fe, NM is a second hand store for furniture and construction materials, such as tile, lights, wood, doors, windows, etc. The best part is they have a tool lending library. The cost is $10 a year and you can borrow 6 tools at a time for FREE for a week. The tools range from simple hand tools like screwdrivers, to ladders, to power tools (routers, all kinds of power saws). It is a great deal. The library is open on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

This looks like an 'Informative', but regardless, thanks very much for the information. It does sound like a good and useful program.

I love the ReStore! Why shouldn't this be a compliment? HFH does great things all around.

Took another look and thought about it. You're right, Momsey. And I am a fan of HFH!

They have one of those stores not too far from me. Sounds like a great thing! Sure beats renting the tools from a rental place or, worse, buying them yourself :)

Great idea!! I didn't know these places existed... most of my repairs are done with a butter knife as a flathead screwdriver and the handle is a small hammer. I do have a phillips head screwdriver also... But, I can't ever find it!!

From what I understand there are only a couple of Restores in the country that do this. Fortunately, I am near one.
