Priceline Complaint - Mislead by Priceline
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA -- Priceline has 5 hotels advertised as 4-star hotels in downtown Indianapolis, but when I named my own price it was picked up by a hotel not in any way comparable to the ones advertised. I know from previous experience that not every hotel that can accept your bid is necessarily listed on the Priceline site, but this hotel isn't close to being in the same category as the other hotels.
The hotels shown on the Priceline website were all centered directly in downtown Indy, all had indoor swimming pools and all are consistently listed as 4 star+ hotels in all other sites. The hotel we ended up in is on a college campus, next to a hospital, about a mile away from the center of downtown. That doesn't mean much in many cities, but in Indianapolis everything is very central to the circle center. Our hotel offered access to the college swimming pool, but it is a couple of blocks away, only available during the week, and charges a fee. To make up for the location, the hotel offered a free downtown shuttle. However, during the first night of our stay, it was limited to one dropoff location. Then during the second day, it was unavailable for over two hours while they were washing it! Add to this that we could hear every conversation happening in the hallway, there was no channel guide for the TV, and every time we called hoping to get the shuttle, we had to wait for the entire automated phone system.
Something's got to give. Either this hotel needs a lower rating, or the other hotels in the area must be upgraded. This is absolutely not what we were bidding for!!!
