Wal-Mart Complaint - Inconsistency in Groceries Offered
AUBURN, MAINE -- I began my experience with buying my groceries at Wal-Mart very positively. I am on a special way of eating (low carb, sugar free), and Wal-Mart seemed to have an abundance of the items that I need. I gave up my usual supermarket and swore I would do all of my shopping (grocery, and otherwise) at Wal-Mart from then on. Beginning just a few weeks later, I realized that the favorite items on my list just weren't available anymore...no sign they'd even been there! After doing research, I found that Wal-mart has extremely strict wholesale standards that their vendors have to meet. I kind of understand the concept, but I am really discouraged at the inconsistancy of the products that are available on the shelves. To me, Wal-Mart is undependable, reducing them to a "discount warehouse" where you take what you get, and stuff bought one week may not even be there the next.
I went back to my local supermarket, and was pleased to find that they would stock some of the items I needed, even though I may have to pay a SLIGHTLY higher price. I rarely visit Walmart anymore. They may have a minimum wage person say "HI" to you at the door, but the personal attention stops there.
