Spiegel Complaint - Refund Policy

Review by yogajane on 2011-03-31
ILLINOIS -- I have to agree that I have never seen such a slow return policy. I was told 4 weeks and than told 8 weeks for a refund. Company must be in trouble and is holding on to every penny as long as they can. After years of shopping with Spiegel, I am done.................

to be honest, I did not know they were still in business. I have not heard of them since the mid 80's. they use to compete against Alden's and sears for the catalog market. I bet they are on the last legs of the old market.

I gave up on Spiegel about 5 years ago. No matter what I did, I could not get a whole outfit from them. I would order a skirt and a top and would get the skirt but the top would be backordered for another month. After the month passed, they would cancel the order and I would be left stuck with the one piece! It happened at least two times and when I found out Newport News items are Spiegel (only cheaper), I started picking up a few items from them. They have some glitches too but are definitely more reliable than Spiegel. Spiegel was THE SPOT for unique and elegant window treatments but they don't even sell those anymore. I think another year or two and they will be catalog history.

I didn't know Spiegel was still in business either, I remember my Mom ordering from them years and years ago and they had terrible turnaround time then, too. Sounds like you'd be better off going somewhere else if they still haven't gotten it right.
