Safford of Wichester Va Complaint - Safford of Winchester Va sucks

Review by peacemaker` on 2011-04-03
WICHESTER, VIRGINIA -- Do not buy from Stafford in Winchester, Va. because after the sale they are done with you. They lie about everything, won't return your calls, and do not want to honor the warranty. I was willing to pay to have to cruise control fixed and they would not even give me a price quote. Another dealer, in another town give me a price in 4 1/2 minutes and told me the the secret they have been trying to keep from me that my purchase only gets 14-16 miles to the gallon.

So much for our new Dodge dealer in Winchester, Va. because they suck!!

They lied about MPG at sale, would not be truthful with us about it only would get 14-16 leading us to believe there was a problem with truck. Service department would not help us or tell us the truth.

This link has some interesting information about advertising disclosures and MPG's.

It's unfortunate but what you have to do is research the information that you feel is important to you when shopping and comparing. I would never have even listened to what some sales person tells me the MPG on a car is. It's not worth the time nor the hot air. Invest your time on research, not listening to salespeople.

I'm not surprised in the least that somebody, whether its the sales person, his manager, or some service guy, misrepresented the MPG. It's a sad state of affairs but it's what I've come to expect from car dealers.

The fact of the matter is that anything they tell you is not contractual. I've even seen sales contracts that state that explicitly.

If they are not honoring the warranty, I would notify the manufacturer. It might not do any good but it's worth a shot. And why not have the other dealer take care of all your work? You have no obligation to Safford going forward.
