Apria Healthcare Complaint - Avoid Apria At All Costs!
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- I have never dealt with a company that is as incompetent as Apria. I am forced to use them but would bolt in a second if I could. Where do we start? Billing. Check the billing every time you get one. They were charging me 20% copay on CPAP supplies when my insurance says I only pay 10%. To get my overpaid money refunded I spoke with and faxed to customer service reps for 4 months, each one promising to fix it and at one point getting a threat of collection from Apria all the while, no refund. Each encounter would be a minimum of 45min on the phone as you cannot get through to the incompetent crew in Jackson, TN without explaining it to the call center in India first, every time and then get transferred to TN. I get a copy of the EOB whenever my insurance receives a claim and find they are billed by Apria for supplies that I never receive and for repair service that I cannot seem to use.
Service: I have never seen a therapist from day one, though spoken with them. They do not tell the truth and will not help service my machine that I feel is not working properly. This has been going on several years. When I call to order replacement mask/hose/humidifier they sometimes send equipment for my machine and sometimes it is for a different machine and I cannot use it at all. And each time they forget the filters requiring another call. This has been my experience with two of their offices in the Chicagoland area.
If you have any say-so at all, ask your insurance provider for any option at all other than Apria. You will be happy you do not have to deal with this company.
