Wal-Mart Complaint - Ignored At Walmart Jewelry Department (Weymouth, Ma)
Saturday afternoon I went to Walmart jewelry department to purchase some 14kt gold posts for my earrings that I needed. Surprisingly it was not busy for a Saturday, I noticed as I walked by the front registers that there were barely any lines, I thought ok cool, I could probably pick up a few other things and get in and out.
Anyway, I digress.
So I'm standing at the jewelry counter, waiting, and waiting until finally I wave down someone from electronics who tells me jewelry is not her department but she will send someone over, I say ok, and proceed to wait, and wait and wait. I flag another person down, this time it's a guy, he says basically the same thing but was rude about it and said he'll find someone to send over when he goes to the back. Again, because I'm very nonconfrontational and kind of a wimp, I say ok. I end up waiting and waiting again for another 15 minutes until I finally just give up and leave. I should mention this is the second time in a row that this has happened to me, at the same Walmart, except the last time it was a weekday. I guess they have no-one working in that department and just hand it off to whoever, but at the same time they are losing sales.
It would have taken them 5 minutes at the most to sell me what I needed, but I guess they can't be bothered. I ended up going to a jewelry store and paying more, but at least I got my earring posts. I work in retail and I know that sometimes finding coverage for certain departments can be hard when you don't have many workers, but at the same time ignoring customers and sales doesn't help either.
