Victoria's Secret Complaint - Shopping Trip

Complaint
Review by SOOO DISAPPOINTED on 2011-04-06
KOKOMO, INDIANA -- I specificately went to VS at this time because I had reveived coupons in mail. 1 For a free week end bag & the other for free pair of panties. This was the 1st day of promotion & they said they had no bags. I went to fitting room to try on several bras. I pushed the service light to get another size but no one ever came. After 18 minutes I got dressed. I bought 1 bra & some panties. I did get my free pair. The ladies working there were not very personable & acted like it was it was quite an inconvenience to assist me in any way. I don't like the panties as well as the old style anyway & the bra I bought is not of high quality you expect from VS. I have shopped at VS for years. In fact my husband always gets me gift cards for special occasions. I told him not to get me anymore as I will not be shopping at VS anymore.

I used to shop in their store and online. I ordered quite a lot of clothes about 2 or 3 years ago, mainly dresses, and only a few things were worth any money.

Do you have any small private lingerie boutiques? We have a few here, like Prive, and the quality is far better as well as the service.

at the risk of not being PC; most of us men really don't care what the bra or panties look like or where they came from. We really just want what's underneath. Save some money and get a practical bra and panties from somewhere else.

Come on, MDS, are you telling me you'd like to have a romantic evening with your lady wearing "practical" undergarments???
Posted by Anonymous on 2011-04-06:
That's a good point, MD, but some women like to have nice underwear, something out of the ordinary.

MDSasquatch, EVERYTHING isn't about you guys...lol. Sometimes we just like to wear nice things. Foundation garments can make or break an outfit and it is definitely worth putting a few extra bucks into them. Longevity is a factor (cheap undies just do not last), proper support is another, and premium fibers to reduce the occurrence of health problems, etc... It is great when one's significant other has an appreciation for lingerie but definitely not a requirement for the purchase. I have very nice skivvies on and there is little to no chance of anyone seeing them today unless I have a car accident or something...lol. It's a "feel good" thing.

That said though, I have shopped at VS since the early 80's and their quality has declined significantly. I do not see any benefit over buying their product vs. something from Marshall's or TJ Maxx. The service in my location borders on stalkerish. I would much rather them leave me to shop in peace.

I understand your frustration OP, but it was a promo period and bound to be busy and hectic. Unfortunately, less than stellar service during such a time is not unusual. If you are unhappy with the quality of the bra, return it. You can give your feedback to the company about your shopping experience and overall impressions of the quality of the lingerie.

I received a coupon for a free pair of panties once. Those are the only "free" panties I ever got - the others cost me a bundle.

What can I say? You've got to be careful when you're shopping around. It's a jungle out there...

sorry to hear the service wasn't that good.. hopefully it'll be better next time..

I don't buy bras or panties from VS. I only buy their body sprays. I buy my 'unmentionables' from places like Kohls

The quality of VS' lingerie seemed to decrease while their prices continued to increase. I worked there for several years and it got to the point where even with my discount I couldn't afford their bras/panties, and when I did get them, they didn't last as long as they used to. I will occasionally order online during their twice yearly clearance sale; the prices are a lot more reasonable then.

I don't shop at VS. They don't have my bra size and I refuse to pay that much for a pair of undies. I agree with blue diamond saying that sometimes it's nice to just strut your stuff because you have a really hot pair of panties on and no one else can see them :).

They probably got like 5 free bags. They usually have a couple per store just for the allure of getting you in the door in the first place. Worked didn't it? Also how were the ladies rude? Just because some people don't enjoy talking to customers doesn't make them rude.

bluediamond, I've been in VS stores where the service was almost "stalkerish", too. But then, it's pretty easy to swipe an armload of panties or bras into a large shopping bag from another store. In my area of WI, it's happened a few times.

Contrast that with the service Teen.olie and I received at one of the VS stores in the King of Prussia Mall in PA. We were already carrying a bag from the other one, which did not have Teen.olie's size in a convertible bra.

At this store, though, the cashier on duty studiously avoided us as we tried to jump up to reach the hanging bras to check the size. I even said really loudly, "Do you see one of those grabber things, Teen.olie?"

Only the thought of totally embarrassing a teenager in a mall halfway across the country, prevented me from hollering at the single cashier. Especially since I'd been totally used to the typical VS hovering.
