Footlocker Complaint - Store Manager poor attitude and defective shoes - Nike - leather sneakers

Nike - leather sneakers - Complaint
Review by niccimouse on 2011-04-10
BROOMFIELD, COLORADO -- Visited the Footlocker at the Flatirons Mall in Co., to show the store a pair of sneakers we have had for 8 months, the right shoes was separating from the sole......she was able to pull up the original receipt. Instead of discussing options with us, She berated us and was very disrespectful, stated that any shoe does not last that long, that defected shoes could only be returned within 30 days and only if they could resold ----really Footlocker resells defective shoes...I asked to speak to the store manager and she stated " you are looking at her.....and that was it
Help ......

Good to know Footlocker sells defective shoes! Thanks for the warning.

I had a similar experience with Nike sneakers. Kohl's took them back, no questions asked. Try contacting Nike. They might be willing to do something for you.

I don't understand the bit about returning defective shoes within 30 days, so that they can be resoled. Oh, Magoo, you've done it again.

Seriously, who is going to buy a worn pair of defective shoes?

8 months is a long time for a pair of sneakers

Sounds like normal wear and tear to me for the life of the shoes.

If the shoes were worn daily (or almost daily), you'd be lucky to get 8 months out of them...especially if there is heel edge or sole wear. And some people are harder on shoes...especially athletic shoes...than others. If the shoes were only worn occasionally (or only a few times) since you bought them, then you would have a defect on your hands. Besides, Nike products are overpriced for what they are...you're basically paying for the name.

My son is very hard on his sneakers, but he gets at least a year to 18 months out of them. The only pair that ever self-destructed was Nike. Same problem as the OP, and I've read other similar complaints, too. Other than Kohl's, I don't expect retailers to take these shoes back after the return period, but Nike should recognize the defect and take care of its customers.

I don't know why the manager even bothered to look up the receipt if she knew there was nothing she could do. She should have simply explained the return policy and suggested that the OP contact Nike. No need for an attitude.
