Complaint
I have been using the Clairol Nice and Easy Dye for many years now. I decided to try the new foaming color since I usually got dye everywhere in my house. It didn't smell like regular hair dye which I thought was strange. I rinsed it out and my hair smelled like fermented beer. I decided to scrub it two more times with regular shampoo, still smells. I called the company which only offered me a coupon. I am hoping this smell will go away, it makes me sick to my stomach.

lol I love how they send you a coupon. As if you want to purchase it again and have your hair smell like beer again.

I was just reading other reviews on the internet, and they all complain about the smell. Apparently, this new foam product, is loaded with ammonia.
You should try one of those leave in 5 minute conditioners, that should take out most of the smell.

I henna my hair and it smells kinda whew! for a few days but the odor dissipates on its own. I have not found anything that removes the smell any faster than nature itself and I've tried quite a few things. Apple cider vinegar did the best job but I'd rather smell like hay than vinegar. If you find it unpleasant, best to stick with what you know works for you. Thanks for the heads up!

If its loaded with ammonia, you will want to deep condition. One I use and make at home is half cup mayo, two tablespoons olive oil and 1/4 cup coconut milk. Leave it on for 30 mins with a damp warm towel wrapped on it. Rinse and shampoo well. It works good!
