BEDFORD, TEXAS -- 2012 Ford F350 had a turbo failure. Well just got off the phone with the 3rd party company Warrantech, they said they denied the claim on get this, an after market air filter... Said it was leaking dirt by into the turbo. I can tell you that's not true. I took pictures and it is very clean with no leakage of dirt, it is a name brand after market filter that it fits the air box just like the factory filter. Anyway they won't even email me a copy of the report or a copy of my contract. I have to send a certified letter which I am going to file an appeal. I don't expect to go anywhere but it can't hurt at this point. There is very little dust getting past the filter. It's clean as a whistle.

BEDFORD, TEXAS -- Bought 65" LG OLED TV less than 2 years ago from Video Only and spent an extra $300 for a extended 4 year warranty from Warrantech. The screen has turned almost all green affecting all colors of the TV. A technician was sent out to verify this issue and he took pictures etc. and sent them in to Warrantech as required. They denied the claim stating that they don't cover TV "burn in". The TV technician said I didn't cause the problem and definitely was a TV issue. Well call the green color (blob) what you want but I spent $2300.00 on the best TV picture rated on the market and it is now unwatchable in anything but a green fog.

They didn't have any problem taking my money for the extra warranty and I guess they feel they can deny claims and increase their bottom line a will. Not fair to the consumer and I believe something should be done to protect the consumer. The local State Attorney General has a Consumer Protection Department to help with companies taking advantage of consumers so that will be my next option.

No One Knows What They Are Talking About

BEDFORD, TEXAS -- I called three different time on 1/20/20. Talked to 3 different foreigners, got 3 different stories as to what was covered. First person told me that my food that thawed out in my freezer that quit working would be covered. To send my list of items into foodloss@amyntagroup.com. Second person told me to contact Frigidaire directly to have them come out and diagnose the problem. They would then contact Warrantech with their diagnosis and order the necessary parts. Called Fridigaire, only to be told I needed to contact Warrantech and obtain a claim number.

Called back a third time and was told I couldn't get a claim number and that my food would not be covered. I had to pay all labor costs to have someone come out and diagnose the problem and put the part (if it were covered). I'd be better off to purchase a new freezer instead of jumping though all of the hoops they would have me jump through. Told the third foreigner I talked to that I wanted to speak to a manager/supervisor and have them explain to me what was covered and what was not covered. Was told someone would be calling me back within 24-48 hours. It has now been a week and still no call back. Will not recommend Warrantech to anyone I know

Worthless extended warranty

TEXAS -- In 2015 I purchased a new Samsung electric range from HHGREGG. I decided, because it was a large purchase, to opt in for the 5 year warranty. A few years after the initial delivery date we had to have something repaired; I called WarranTech and they set up a repair service. A short while later we had another issue and I called WarranTech tech and they again set up a repair service. And just recently we had a new issue, the broiler heating element basically exploded, caught fire, and melted in a back corner. We called WarranTech and they set up a repair. While the repairman was here he told me he ordered the new broiler heating element and I should hear back in about 3 days. After a week I called the repair company and was told that WarranTech is ‘cashing me out' and the part needed is no longer manufactured. What? The oven is 4 years old and a popular brand! I called WarranTech and after being on hold for 45mins, I was told that a reimbursement check was mailed out.

I'm confused as to why they choose to reimburse me because the oven is only 4 years old, I find it hard to believe that the part is no longer available for such a popular/new oven.

They woman I spoke to said I was being reimbursed $375. I was speechless! I paid over $1000 for the oven and protection plan. She said the amount is the current value minus the repair costs. I'm paying the repair costs?? Isn't that why I purchased a protection plan?

This is ridiculous!

FLORIDA -- This company will not fix your appliance. I paid for the extended warranty on my dishwasher and needed to have it repaired once and now I needed it repaired again. When I tried to arrange a repair through Warrantech, which took over the warranty for HHGregg they would not repair the dishwasher. They said they would only send me a check for the amount I paid less the cost of any previous repairs. Which totally defeats the whole reason for buying an extended warranty. Which was a repair or replace at their discretion. Which would have been fine. But I got neither. And I didn't get enough to replace it since it had been previously repaired when it was less than two weeks old.

We have a not even 3 yr old washing machine. Started acting up/not working correctly about 6 weeks ago. Me and my disabled wife/no kids don't do that much laundry. Called in extended warranty that doesn't drain/no rinse cycle/kind of does what it wants to. Tech comes out, manages to find 4 coins stuck in agitator I guess, and says, "Motor shot - will submit to Warrantech for repair."

11 days after hearing nothing, and two unanswered emails, wife gets thru today, and we were informed almost immediately "Warranty claim denied-tech found coins in agitator, and that we failed to follow a proper maintenance plan on our washing machine causing such repair need. Case closed".

I'm 48 yrs. old, and always found change in washer - it was a bonus! Customer service lady was completely firm and descriptive about basically how stupid we were to neglect such a maintenance plan... WE NEVER CALLED ON A MOTOR - IT WORKED. JUST DIDNT DRAIN PROPERLY!

Never heard such a B.S. excuse, but one that needs to be shared as this company has major negative ratings, and here is another! Could not have been any worse/sucked any more. I fully plan on going back to local Menards store to see if, doubtedly, I can get a refund balance on a 4 yr warranty I paid for for a JUNK not even 3 yr old washer! Menards even said they had problems/complaints with Warrantech, and they aint a company that should throw stones! Complete jerk offs!!!

SURPRISE, ARIZONA -- We have been without refrigerator for 2 months. I called Warrantech and they sent someone out 2 weeks later who looked at our fridge. They said that Warrantech would call but after a week of waiting I called and they said they need to send someone else out for second review. Two weeks later the company they sent said they are equipped and experienced to fix any refrigerator, they gave their opinion and diagnosis and said call warranty company the next day. The next day I called Warrantech and they said that the 2 people they sent out were not certified to fix my refrigerator, so the representative said she will send another diagnosis repairman to once again diagnose issue. I asked why on earth would you send 2 companies that cannot fix the issue especially when one of the repairmen told me their company can fix any refrigerator system. Well she had no answer other than call back the next day and they would schedule a THIRD tech to come out. I called the next day and a new representative said "that the claim is now in review to be replaced and we will email you within 3-5 business days with results". After 8 business days I called back and they said the request was never sent to their "claims" department. This whole process has been a joke, and I would NEVER recommend using Warrantech or their partner of companies. Beware Warrantech/Pacific Sales as they are one of the major warranties Best Buy offers. Two months without a refrigerator during Thanksgiving & Christmas and still waiting for someone to do their job...TBC

CRANSTON, RHODE ISLAND -- My mother who has very poor eye sight bought an large TV with a five year extended warranty. I called Warrantech service number - it took one hour waiting to talk to the first person and an additional hour to get connected to the department she transfers us to. They did contact a service company near my mother's home but we were told the screen needed to be replaced.

Warrantech was told of this expensive item by the service company (meaning it probably is not worth fixing - therefore Warrantech would have to provide a new TV). My mother has been without her TV for about a month and Warrantech so far has not lived up to our warranty agreement. My mother is contacting the state's Attorney General Consumer Protection Office to see if they can get Warrantech to follow their own warranty agreement. Personally when I buy any product in the future and am told Warrantech is the warranty provider I will tell the store I will shop somewhere else because of Warrantech.

Warrantech A Bunch of Crooks
By -

BEDFORD, TEXAS -- My husband and I recently purchased a new home. Not even three weeks after moving in the house, we got a leak in our master bath toilet. According to Warrantech our policy was on hold, so I called my realtor to get to the bottom of the situation and they tried to say that the policy hadn't been paid for, even after the check had been cleared. We even had a confirmation number and the policy should have been in full force. Well this all happened on October 22nd.

After numerous phone calls, we have been bounced around, jacked around and been fed line after line of crap! Well then these people have the nerve to tell me that we didn't get a home inspection, so the policy is on hold for 30 days. Well what does that mean? I have to wait 30 days before you will fix a leak? Are you flipping kidding me? Do you know how much damage that's going to end up being? My realtor, the seller of the house we bought realtor, and myself have been wasting hours of our life we will never get back, talking to their worthless customer service department as well as their worthless supervisors.

I am working so hard for this piece of crap company to just give me back the money paid for this warranty, so I can fix the damn problem myself. I can buy my own warranty from a different warranty company that actually does their job. Every time you call, they tell you they can't do this and that. Then they wanted a copy of our appraisal since we didn't have a home inspection so we did that still nothing is done. Meanwhile I have a gaping hole in my ceiling.

I am on a mission to spread the word about this very horrific company, their horrific service, their horrific claims process, their horrific business habits and the way that they are ripping customers off left and right. I will not rest until the whole world knows that this company is full of **. After further reading their warranty coverage, it outlines more of what they won't cover than what they will. The warranty is complete crap, NOTHING is covered. It's not even worth the paper that its printed on.

I want the money back from the warranty and I want to be done with these losers completely. I have never dealt with such a dishonest, crooked, business in all of my life and I hope they are wiped out of existence. If I had a chance to choose my warranty prior to it being purchased on my behalf by the seller of my house, I would have done the adequate research to know that this company comprised a bunch of crooks.

I will be damned if I sit back and let this leak continue to destroy my house for months on end, like I have seen other people deal with from this company. I will call every lawyer, BBB, and person I can even if I have to go to my congressman, I will. I am tired of companies like this thinking that they can take advantage of consumers and get away with it. NOwhere in their documentation does it require you to have a home inspection prior to the sale of a home to establish coverage.

Having a home inspection is not required prior to the sale of a home by state law. The bottom line is this company is full of ** when it's time to pay for repairs that should be covered! So finally I get in touch with someone who is supposed to send me a refund and surprise, surprise, they send the check to the wrong address. Here it is, almost December, and I still don't have a refund. What a worthless company! Wake up Warrantech - Rome fell and so can you!

Warrantech Extended Warranty Scam
By -

BEDFORD, TEXAS -- Purchased my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo with 85k miles on 6/4/2007. On 6/5/2007, the trans. went bad. Warrantech denied the claim because they claimed that the damage was "pre-existing". Sure it was. But that's why I bought an extended warranty, everything about a used vehicle is pre-existing!! 5k miles later, the motor goes bad -12/12/2007.

I file a claim with Warrantech, follow the contract stipulations and even have it worked on at their "recommended" repair facilities. I am told that I need to authorize the mechanic to take off the valve cover and oil pan so that one of Warrantechs' inspectors can come by and assess the damage.

The internal parts of the motor are covered by metal shavings from the main bearing, and the mechanic verifies this. The Warrantech inspector sees this and Warrantech then tells me that I need to authorize further tear-down of the motor to the failed bearing. Also, the Warrantech adjuster told me that there is no guarantee that they will honor the claim, therefore, I could be responsible for the labor and garage fees. I had no choice BUT to authorize the work at this point.

Finally, 3 weeks into the claim, the inspector shows up again, takes his pictures of the stripped motor, and leaves. I speak to Warrantech and they tell me that they will pay for all but $500 (approx) of the labor and time charges for this claim!? This stems directly from the (unnecessary) tear-down of the motor. This tear-down was performed at Warrantech's behest. Now I am stuck with the bill.

I reviewed my contract carefully, and nowhere am I responsible for this one - "Warrantech has authorized the repairs". I should only have to pay my $100.00 deductible. Plain as day at the very bottom of the contract. I escalate this and FINALLY find the company website and contact info (they don't advertise it). I voiced my displeasure and asked for a response. Beck ** emails me and tells me that since I authorized other work, that Warrantech won't pay for any of it.

No other work is being performed, she just assumed this. I provided the proof that THEIR repair facility's pricing and labor are on the level by showing them estimates for the exact same job, from different vendors here in town including the Isuzu dealership. Becky then threw some numbers at me (apparently for labor and time) in regards to my claim, that didn't match anything that anyone at Warratech's claim team had previously told me. Becky's responses had deteriorated to semantics and double-talk.

I am held to the wording of the contract, however, Warrantech does not operate by these terms. Instead, they never contact the customer. l operate behind closed doors and never tell/show how they come to decisions. I can't believe that business practices like this still go on in the 21st century. There is much, much more to this claim, but it would take a lot more typing, and I'm sure you get the picture. I will sue Warrantech for loss of time, loss of use, just plain aggravation and fraud.

Warrantech also sells extended warranties on wheelchairs, home theater, electronics and more. They are one of the largest of their kind in America. Circuit City, Staples, Office Depot and more utilize Warrantech. BUYER BEWARE!!!
