Hughesnet Complaint - Can only download so much a day! Thats crap! - Internet
Internet - Complaint
CHEHALIS, WASHINGTON -- Where we lived in 2009 Hughes net was the only provider we could deal with at our location. Comcast would set us up for around $3400.00 dollars. But now I can get them to my home for under $300.00, that's just put the fiber optics down our long driveway. Then it will cost me for phone w/ long distance and internet $100.00 a month after the first year at $60.00! In Jan. 2012, you can bet your sweet touch we are switching, for now we pay between the 2 $145.00 and that is not all long distance on our plan.
Then we will also be able to use our Wii and Net Flicks. Oh you can't get DirecTV on demand with Hughes Net either!!!
We feel as though we are being screwed badly! Please, Please Look into Hughes Net before purchasing it. Lots of draw backs. I can not even update my iPhone because it times out even during the free hours!! I have to go to Starbucks or McDonald's to do that! Now that is sad, and it speaks volumes about the service Hughes Net Gives you!!!!

I would love Hughes Net to personally call me, however I know they will not because they don't want to hear all the bad stuff I and others are saying about their company, plus they do not care what their customers have to say as long as they are getting your money! BOTTOM LINE!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it is a satellite, so it makes sense that they place limits on daily useage. The description of limiting your speed after a certain amount of data useage is in your contract.
The advantage of HugesNet is that it doesn't require local infrastructure (fiber, copper), as far as I can tell. If you now have another alternative, than by all means you should consider it.
