TNT Television Informative - TNT.. upcomming TV series Falling not mess this up!!!!!

Review by ncoclub on 2011-04-14
Pre-notice to TNT..PLEASE don't treat this show like the idiots that let "Firefly" die!!!:

1. Don't air it on Friday night at 10PM! That time slot is known for getting shows cancelled!
2. Don’t air 6 or 7 episodes, then not show it for 8 or 9 WEEKS!!!
3. Don't air the first season, then let it sit for 6 or 7 MONTHS like "Southland"!
4. Unlike "V", make it available the next day to watch on Hulu or on the web-site!! Some of us have jobs or other distractions that keep us from watching sometimes!!!
5. KEEP THE FANS INVOLVED if there is going to be a long break (ie. pod-casts, blogs). Keep it fresh so fans don't lose interest.(see Battlestar Galactica). They did a great job with the mini web-series.

I am sick and tired of getting into a great TV series only to have it cancelled or one of the above.

Great suggestions. I feel the same way about new television shows. I hesitate to invest any time in a new series because it either goes on hiatus or is canceled. And it's not just TNT. Viewers aren't given enough time or enough episodes to build up an interest in a new show. If it isn't a hit right off the bat, it disappears very quickly.

There must be another explanation, because I find it extremely difficult to believe that any sound-minded executive would willingly pull the plug on a moderately successfull show. Surely, there must be other mitigating factors that the average joe is simply unaware of. It would be nice to have an insider's opinion on this one.

it is all about ratings and advertisers support.

I am excited about a new series beginning this weekend, 'Police POV.' The equip police with a lightweight headset that has a video camera, and everything you see is the same thing the officer sees. Dashcams were touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread, but many dashcams did not catch action that the sound system did. This will trip up a few officers but save the bacon of many more.

Fridays at 10pm is like a kiss of death to any show.

Dirm, if a show is not as profitable as it's expected to be, it's canceled. A lot of television shows had rocky beginnings and ended up being extremely popular. Not anymore. Just like today's music industry, if you're not an overnight sensation, you don't stand a chance.
