Cingular Wireless Complaint - very shady customer service
NEW JERSEY -- i was a happy ATT wireless customer for 6 years, i recall having to call them once for a defective phone to which they handled it very nicely and rushed its delivery and then waited for me to send back the defective product. so, i've heard bout ATT and cingular merging and of course I waited til my product could no longer function on the new server (i.e. drop calls, poor reception, delay txt/vmail, etc...) and ended up migrating over.
that was the worse experience of my life. i believe i purchased the phone and new plan the last week of march. when i received my phone it was defective by means of the flip squeaking and one of the buttons loose (of course this is when the product is bouncing around without bubble wrap in a large box). i called back and arranged to send the product back for an even exchange (once they get the product, i get my new phone). they sent me a label therefore prepared the package and sent it. I waited FOUR WEEKS wondering where my phone was. of course I called and whoever was on the phone tried to humor me by saying 'do you want good or bad news'...of course i said give me the good---he said that we received your defective phone however, the bad news is we didn't send out the new phone...when i heard that i was livid...how can you NOT send out a new phone? he couldn't find the order i placed so i had to sit there and reorder the phone n plan then i told him to credit me back the phone and credit my next statement for all this inconvience---so he promised me that the phone would be credited and that the new one will not be charged and that the best he can do is deduct 15 dollars off my next statement...fine
i've waited a week for my phone, and the activation part took me a day of arguing because they forgot to take off the serial number from the defective phone and was pending...called the following day---took me TWO hours to activate the phone...at least the person was nice enough to endure all this that went on and even help me set up my vmail account.
so here's were my patience gave way, i received my prorated bill and noticed that there was no credit given...fine i'll wait for the next one...i did and guess what i saw---they deducted the money from the defective phone and put back the money for the new phone...and i get my statement too that showed no credit for 15 dollars anywhere!?! except all this nonsense charges... i called back fumin but held my temper until the person told me that i never made any calls and nothin was recorded/placed on the account for the requests I've made, and if i did it was from the ATT customer service that's a lie cuz I know I called cingular customer care...y on earth would i call ATT if i'm your new customer
so i blew my head off and he started laughin, i told him that if it happened to you that you got duped into a company filled with lies and you'd probably feel the same way...i demanded for the supervisor and told him that he/she better not be a meeting nor vacation. i waited an hour n here's michelle, i explained my story from birth til death...and then she gracefully said i'm sorry for the inconvience that this might have caused but we will not credit you the cell phone nor 15 dollars wherever you heard that from
i told her would i be callin to make this up? and she gave me this round about how if we gave you the credit, we'd have to credit other people as well...so i was like so then its obvious that you have a bunch of unsatified customers that you rip-off to make your buck...silence...she beat around even more which i cut her off and was like stop it with this nonsense am i gettin my money back---and she said no...well how bout all those calls i've made from march til now weren't they recorded---she said no and i was like do i have to record my own conversations and she's like if thats how you feel and i'm like that's not necessary cuz i'm leaving this pathetic company in 2 years...i was like is this being recorded right now...she's like yes...i'm like well cingular u can take that raising the bar and shove it...michelle thanx for ur help but u've been no help at all...i can read a script too but my endin will say bleep you n this company...and she's like u too and i'm like oh really, n i know you can give two ishs right now but let me tell u that i cater to customers with loyalty and if their not happy with wha they get...i don't beat around the bush with lame excuses, i don't ask questions...i either give their money back or ask them if they want somethin else...so the next time you ever go thru the same ordeal i went thru, think of me but i'll be the one laughin sayin i told you so cuz at one point or another it will happen where you will feel utterly ripped-off and most of all helpless...then i slammed the phone thought about filing with the BBB but I don't have the exact dates or what was verbally exchanged unlike DELL
can someone recommend me if t-mobile is any better for NJ area? thanx...2 years and countin so long cingular :)
