Ticketmaster Complaint - Won't help find owner of lost tickets - Concert tickets

Concert tickets - Complaint
Review by kenoqueen on 2011-04-14
I found some concerts tickets today and was hoping to re-unite them with their owner. I contacted Ticketmaster by phone and explained the situation and they said they were unable to help me. Now we all know that a simple search of the barcode on the ticket would have revealed the owner's information. I did not even want the information, they could have contacted them and given them my phone number.

Their only suggestion was to mail them the tickets! Right............

Maybe the owner of the tickets will look for them wherever you found them at.

Good for you for trying to find the owner. Nicole has a good suggestion. Maybe take the tickets back to where you found them.

Ummmm, no it (the barcode)wouldn't. I have bought tickets with cash from Ticketmaster locations many times and I have never been asked for any personal information. If I lose the tickets it is my fault.

I do applaud your efforts about finding who lost them, and I agree with the others to go back to location and see if anyone is looking for them.

I think they could have at least tried to find the owner. Chances are the tickets were charged. The last thing I would do is mail them back.

With what Venice? The last 4 numbers? There is no code on the tickets that can tell who bought them. That is why scalpers thrive in their business.

About 2 weeks ago, I found a Visa card on the ground at the gas pump. Guess what I did? I took it inside and gave it to the cashier. I didn't keep it and call Visa to say that I found this card and can you please tell me who's it is. I did this because i thought that the person who lost it may just come back to look for it.

You should have done the same thing.

I don't know that a simple search of the barcode will reveal the owner of the ticket. Is that true?

Since tickets change hands frequently, if it WAS possible to search by barcode, you might not be finding the rightful owner of those tickets.

That was nice of you!!... So many people wouldn't of even tried to find the owner. Where did you find them?

I would of thought the same thing, I always preorder tickets, so I would of thought the tickets were traceable also.

they probably cannot give you the information for several reasons.

1) They can't give out personal information like that. You're not law enforcement.

If they give you the information and you do something to the owners, they will be liable for the damages. They don't trust you.

That's too much of a gamble.

2) The owners can also have their tickets reprinted.
