Artic Cat Complaint - Warranty Problems - Artic Cat Prowler

Review by OKMike on 2011-04-14
I purchased a 2009 Prowler a year and a half ago that Artic Cat gives a 3 year warranty with. I have since put a mere 200 miles of pretty easy terrain on this unit when the front bushing came out of the clutch assembly. This allowed the clutch assembly to become soaked with oil along with the drive belt. It started slipping, so we took it in as fast as we could. We didn't keep driving it or anything else and it was in within a week of the problem. Still under warranty, they serviced it and paid for the problem to be fixed----except the oil used and the drive belt. All this WAS part of the problem, but became part of my responsibility because it is part of the drive train. Artic Cat paid about 135.00 compared to my 300.00. WHAT A WARRANTY. I WILL NEVER buy Artic Cat again. I hope others read this and are warned before they become stuck with a $7000.00 item that Artic Cat won't stand behind!

I took a look at some sites that had forums on Arctic Cats and it does seem there are a lot of problems with the drive belts getting soaked by fluids (oil, anti-freeze). Some of the owners also reported that the warranty didn't cover the problem.
