McDonalds Corporation Complaint - Kid's meal toys--->Read this one
Yesterday, 11/3/01, during the afternoon I took my two children, Ben and Brooklyn, shopping. While we were there my children became hungry so I took them to their favorite fast-food restaurant, McDonald's, for a bite to eat. They both ordered the kid's meals eagerly anticipating the toy that would come with it. Both enjoy these toys immensely, and it is definitely the major draw of the children's meal. However we were rudely informed that the outlet was out of toys. Instead of kindly telling this to my kids, the employee told them in a nasty and condscending tone of voice that 'why would she give them any toys? They were OUT.' Brooklyn, who is only 3, promptly burst into tears. I asked if perhaps we could get a discount as there was no toy and I was told 'What did I just tell you Lady? We are OUT of toys, and NO I can NOT give you a discount.' I asked to speak to the manager and was told the manager was not there. Feeling like nothing could be acheived from talking to this surly employee I left with the kids. Needless to say, the rest of our meal was ruined. Although the food was indeed very tasty, the sour employee and my children's downtrodden faces, made me not want to buy another product at McDonald's again.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
As a single mother, I have to be tight about my budget, and I expect that these kid's meals include the price of a toy, and when no toy is given some discount should be made. All I'm asking is that you honor that a discount should have been given to me in light of the circumstances, and that you could send my kids the two toys that they were supposed to receive. Thank you.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
