Best Buy Complaint - Customer service - best buy
BEST BUY.COM -- I will start off by saying that shopping for cd's, dvd's and other items you can take to the cashier yourself there is no problem. I purchased a Samsung 26" hdtv from the store and it took over a month to get delivered to the store. Why have it on display if the customer can not get it quicker? This purchase was made in Columbia,Mo. After getting the run around about why it was taking so long, I had them look where they had that model located at close by. The salesman found one in a town outside St. Louis less than hour away. I quessed they don't have any trucks that go by that store and they said I could not drive there and pick that one up. I finally got that tv and continued to shop with Best Buy. I travel with my wife and we needed a smaller size tv and we decided to order a 32" LCD flat screen. I searched at Amazon.com and found the same tv and surround system which was offered as a free extra with the purchase at Best Buy.com. The prices was almost the same but I went with Best Buy.com I placed my order and was asked when I wanted the tv to be delivered because it was a special delivery. I picked the date on the list that was offered. A couple days later I checked my order status to find out I needed to call Customer Service. I called and the person could not give me a date cause his computer would not take the order and passed me off to someone else. This person, who you can barely understand, gave the same excuse and said that she turned over to their solutions department and it would take 2-3 bus. days to call me back. I asked if she could do better than that and give me their number she said that the only contact they have to them is the email she sent. This is a huge company why can't I get an answer when I call CUSTOMER SERVICE? Another good question is why do they even put dates when things wil be delivered cause it won't make it. Out of curiosity I checked the local store and they have them instock. I can't understand why Best Buy and their .com store can not work together, they must not have the technology to work inventory. They did give me an estimate of almost 3 weeks for it to be arrive but I still wait for the phone call. I also wonder if they were even going to call me about the problem or just take my money and let me think about how nice it would be to watch my ne tv. I will not make anymore large purchases from the store or .com Just for fun I called the corporate offices and just asked if there was anything that could be done about having to wait for an answer and I was met with the same who cares attitude. I worked with the public in sales and later as a phone tech. and would always make sure customers questions were answered. It is amazing that a company can become so large with the way they treat customers. I hope this will help people in the future. I just received an email a day later to notify me that my order has been cancelled because they don't have any. I also called the local store back just to check again and was told they have none instock. This is where I get mad, they should not display items they don't have in store or on the internet. Is that consider false advertising? I even called a store 45mins away because online they had the tv instock. The salesman said all they had was a display model and that their inventory is always off and really don't know what they have instock for sure. This has happen at different stores in different states so it has to be a problem company wide. I would suggest not shopping with this company. Also the free surround system they shipped turns out I will either pay for it now or make a trip to return it to the store. If they operate seperatly then why can I return an online purchase to the store but I can not get the online store to find my tv at a store and have it shipped from them to satisfy a customer. This all makes no sense if you think about it. What ever happened to people talking to people and working out a problem. With all communication options available today it has actually stopped communication between people.
