Vison Hyundai Complaint - Bad Service/Bad Repair
Vision Hyundai of Rochester, NY is an AWFUL dealership. Read on; they don't seem to value their customers' lives!
We were to have a special price from the fleet salesperson (AAA). Surprise! That person was never there (read that as "never existed") no matter how often we phoned. When we appeared in person, we were given a regular salesperson who "insisted" we buy a program car. We were finally convinced (because "Hyundais are hard to come by", said he) and that's when the real fun began.
Two thousand miles into owning it, I heard a bad, repeated noise. To Vision, I was apparently just a dumb woman. "Nothing wrong," the service dept said. When my husband finally went in, "oh, yes, the rear brakes are seized." This is the noise I heard for the first two thousand miles; had we not saved the earlier service record receipt, we would have paid a fortune to repair the brakes. (By the way, read other websites about this brake issue being a common problem on all Hyundais models and about the related federal recall -- but, alas, not our model year. Also, read Edmonds about bad machining and manufacture of Hyundai brake parts.)
Vison replaced some brake parts but with a strong, condescending and parental admonition that next time the fix would be on our shoulders. Guess what! It's happening again; the brakes are seizing. The rear brakes are unevenly worn, and we need a complete brake overhaul, according to a good, independent mechanic -- one we trust.
I REFUSE TO TAKE THIS FAIRLY NEW CAR INTO VISION HYUNDAI. I DON'T TRUST THEM, AND I DON'T WANT THEIR SHABBY PARTS ON MY CAR. I WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICE DEPT AGAIN. THEY COULDN'T EVEN PUT WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON RIGHT FOR CRIPES SAKE.
AND I'LL NEVER, EVER BUY A CAR FROM THEIR AUTO GROUP OR EVER BUY ANOTHER HYUNDAI AGAIN.
And this is only one story. I could tell you about them! GASP, YES, THERE ARE MORE RELATED TO THIS DEALERSHIP AND TO HYUNDAIS IN GENERAL. AND ANY "GOOD" REVIEWS I HAVE SEEN ABOUT HYUNDAIS HAVE BEEN FROM NEW OWNERS. GIVE THEM TIME; THEY'LL BE SORRY, TOO.
