Jiffy Lube Complaint - Jiffy Lube Spams Cell Phones!
Complaint
Today, Jiffy Lube sent a spam message to my cell phone. I don't have an html phone that beeps when an email is received, just a standard flip phone.
It said that there was a "1-time offer" to join their eClub for 45% off an oil change. It said to reply with STOP to stop the messaging and acknowledged that data rates may apply.
I don't know if any other company started doing it first, but it's the first time it's happened to me, and I won't stand for it.
This is where it begins: where you're inbox fills up with junk from inconsiderate companies you've trusted with your phone number (or have bought it from a list... you'd better believe that's coming next). This is where a guy with the cheapo flip phone has to start hunting for spam-blocker apps just to keep his phone from being as junked-up as his email account.
Help me out here people: go to www.jiffylube.com/about/contact.aspx or jiffylubeopinion.com and submit a complaint. Tell them you won't do business with them until you're sure they've stopped phone spamming.

apparently you or someone else must have signed up for their text messaging. Its really not a big deal, you text stop, they should stop. I get texts from dominos every once in a while about specials. I have a texting plan so it doesnt really bother me.

ditto. Just text STOP. It should shop it. The 20 cents or so it would cost you if you don't have a text plan would be worth avoiding the aggrivation. Alternatively, you could ask your cell phone provider to block all text messages from your acount.
