Lowe's Compliment - Roofing Estimate
TEXAS -- This compliment is in reference to a roof job that Home Depot left a bad taste in my mouth. To read more about that complaint, refer to Home Depot “Roofing Estimate” posted today also.
To make a long story short I got a $9,057 quote from Home Depot when the roof job were estimating about $4,500. I was brought up with the "Sears" warranty service mentality of the 1980's, so I decided to go with a solid company who would warranty their work.
I tried Lowe's and they quoted me $4,700.00 and didn't even bring a salesman (unlike HD) …..the actual contractor came out, measured the roof and advised me that Lowe's would get in touch with me and they did. Didn’t even want to come in my house, as I was expecting another sales pitch. I got what I wanted.
The sad story is that I talked with a fellow co-worker who lives by me and guess what? He was getting the same shaft from Home Depot another $9,000 quote.
As you can see I am still pretty upset about this incident. I am well versed in home improvement projects and I was a die hard Home Depot customer. Until my wife opened my eyes and sold me on the Lowe's environment and customer service driven policies. I have been numerous times and there is always someone by the cashier lane to assist you and guide to wherever you need to go.
If there is no one available, they have a push button that goes crazy paging someone until someone from that department gets there. I was impressed and since then I have never and will never go back to HD.
