DirecTV Inc Complaint - Stolen Box
CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE -- I was having some recording problems with my TVOE, also I had received a letter from Direct TV that soon I would not be able to receive local channels and I needed to call them. I called about the recording problem and proceeded to speak with the woman about the letter and she informed me that they would come out and install a new box with absolutely no cost to me. On Sat. April 16, the technician came out installed the box, I informed him that the box in the bedroom I had purchased directly from Direct TV and it belonged to me. He said okay and left. About 30 min later another truck drove up and a tech got out and proceeded to tell me he was there to fix my problem with my TV and I told him he was a day late and a dollar short another man had already fixed it. He said no he needed to put in some numbers that the previous tech had failed to do, I asked why and he said just because he messed up. Now mind you everything was working good. I sent him to the house with my grandson, mind you my husband is being evaluated for a lung transplant he is extremely sick and cannot take care of such things. After about two hours I returned to the house and saw that the bedroom light was on, proceeding to the bedroom I thought I might as well put the box away while I am in here, I reached for it where I had left it and to my amazement it was gone. I looked all over the room. Called Direct TV turned in a complaint and not until Monday morning after I called the Chattanooga office and spoke with a lady named Victoria, she assured me that she knew who the technician was and she asked me to hold, she said she spoke with him and he was busy that day but he would get the box back to me by Friday. Well it is Friday night, I recalled Direct and after a lengthy, verbal conversation on both our parts they informed me that they were sorry I wasn't told they would take my box and that they did not have to give it back, that that was the way they made their money, they would not give my money back either. I have not checked out the room thoroughlly, I am, to see if anything else is missing.
But I would like to know if anyone knows what I can do about the situation. I do not need this, it is taking time away from what few prescious time I may not have with my husband and it is tearing my mind up that someone that you think you can trust comes in your home on a completely false pretense and steals your belongings and then tells you that it is just tough. by the way the Technicians name is chuck, chattanooga Tennessee office I think on Lee Hwy. I am going to file a stolen report, I do have my serial numbers, and I am going to file a small claims court lawsuite. Does anyone have any other suggestions.?
