Comcast Corporation Complaint - Disappointing - TV services
DOVER, DELAWARE -- I've not had many bad things to say about Comcast until recently. When they started switching their channels to digital format, we were forced to order a digital converter for our TV (at no charge). Once you install the converter, you have to go online or call a number to activate it. Activating the converter wiped out half of our channels. I spoke with customer service and they said "oh yes, well that is something that has been happening in your area, you'll need to upgrade your cable package for another $40 a month". At first I said NO way. But then I realized that there was no other way to get our channels back (Verizon doesn't offer cable, and we can't have satellite TV in our apartment complex). So I decided to upgrade. I spoke with customer service again, and the guy said the upgrade would be effective immediately, and asked me to check my TV to see if the new channels showed up. I turned on my TV and it was a blank screen. They had completely screwed up our entire service. I spoke with an IT guy who couldn't fix it, either. Then I was told I'd have to have a technician come out to our home, and that would take another 4 days. Unbelievable. I would not still be using Comcast if there were any other cable provider in this area, but there isn't.
