Bank of America Complaint - Bank of America opened a credit card in my name without my consent
ESCONDIDO, CALIFORNIA -- My parents have been banking with bank of America for over 20 years so when I opened my bank account a month ago I had the utmost confidence in their services. When I recorded my debit card in the mail about 2 weeks late I also received a letter that stated that I had applied for a credit card that I had expressly stated I did not want taken out. I calle several times to try to figure out why the credit card had been taken out and was transferred around to several people who couldn't figure out why I was sent to them and told me there was nothing they could do for me but they could transfer me to someone who could. I ended up havin to go back to the branch and speaking to the manager who opened my account with where a claim was taken out with yet another person who claimed they could not help me but could transfer me to someone who could. After another 5 transfers I was sent to the fraud department who told me there was nothing they could do to help me and I should talk to the manager of the branch. I called her and he told me she would calle back in angry or less. And hour and a half later I called the branch 3 times and my phone call was my answered any of the three times so I looked up the number for corporate where I yet again was transferred around and eventually told that they did know who opened the credit card but that they could my tell me what actions would be taken against the employee who fraudulently took out a credit are in my name. When I tried to go in to close my account they refused to take the hold off of my check, so now the bank that could have screwed me will e making money off of my money for another three days. Not to mention the horrible customer service I encountered with almost every ASSociate I was transferred to. DO NOT BANK WITH BANK OF AMERICA.
