Your Home International, New York Rentals Complaint - Avoid Your Home International

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- Having done business with this firm in 2010, I contacted them to rent the same place in 2011. I confirmed details, sent a huge check and was emailed on Feb. 11 that I definitely had the rental for the month of May, and confirmation would be sent.

When confirmation did not arrive, I called and was told employee was no longer there and I did not have the rental. On Mar. 11, they told me they had a place many blocks away from original and 55% higher.

I requested my deposit be returned on March 18. After no response, I demanded deposit be retuned immediately. Repeated phone calls with no return tot hem.

On March 30, they finally told me they would send deposit. On April 7, they sent email copy of check and said it was in the mail. Check arrived and was deposit on April 11 and was deposited. Checked bounced. Finally received wire with deposit to my bank on April 25.

Employee told me company policy holds rentals open as long as possible to get higher price, also bad relations with many owners, tries to get people into higher prices properties by holding deposits, and switches properties on renters. I will never do business with this company again!
