AAMCO-South Hill, Puyallup, Wa Compliment - Give individual shops a break !!

Review by Fearless on 2011-04-27
PUYALLUP, WASHINGTON -- All these [people] that had bad experiences with individual tranny shops need to look in the mirror. All the people at AAMCO in Puyallup, Wa. are some of the most honest, fairest, most helpful of anyone I've come across in my 71 years. I was told up front how much it would cost to rebuild my totally fried transmission. It came to slightly less than the estimate, and the result was a transmission that operates better than when it was new. How you people can judge a whole industry by a few bad apples just galls me. Check the BBB on a particular shop, before you paint every shop with such a broad brush. "Let the buyer beware" applies especially to buyers who are not smart enough to do their homework before they step in something nasty.

Manny and his crew in Puyallup should be praised, not lumped together with the takers of the world. WISE UP!!!!!

This AAMCO has great reviews since the BBB file was opened

BBB file opened: 03/07/2011

Hardly enough time to rate a business via BBB

Did you read a review where Manny and his team were named and lumped together with the company name in an unfair manner?

This is one of the pitfalls of having a nationally known name.

As of November 1, 2011, a new Owner is at Aamco Transmission & Total Car Care, in Puyallup, WA.

Hi, my name is Kurt Enge, and I am proud to be the new Owner at this location. I was the origanal Store Manager when this location first opened, so it is good to be back. I look forward to serving many of my old friends.

For those of you that don't know me yet, I invite you to stop by so we can meet. I have the job of earning each customers trust, and that I will do, one customer at a time. I promise Fair, Honest, Affordable, maintenence and repairs at my shop.

I have been with Aamco for over 15 years and have God oversee my business and personal life. If you have any automotive need from brakes to engine to transmission and everything in between, please give us a call and an oppertunity to make you say, WOW!

I have to say I am very jelous of your experiences with the South Hill/Puyallup Aamco. I am currently fighting to get the repairs done on my vehicle for the price that was agreed upon. My wife is Active Duty Army, and money is very tight. I spoke with a manager that was filling in for the normal stop manager, and he was sympathetic to our situation and gave us his word that our bill would be just under $2700, and that was paid the same day. He gave us his word that any repairs needed to overhaul the trans would be performed for that original price. A week later we received a call from the manager, Jenn, who was now back from taking time off, and she informed me that they required an additional $1700 to complete the work. We have neither the cash or the credit to pay these additional fees and the manager there says that the original manger I spoke with must've just worded his explanation incorrectly. I would like for someone to explain to me how it is at all ethical for that establishment to take advantage of a hard working military family, who's just trying to make ends meet and serve our country. I have absolutely no respect for them, and am going to be forced to take legal action if they do not agree to complete the work as was originally agreed. I strongly urge anyone who is considering taking their vehicle to the South Hill/Puyallup WA Aamco to get every single consideration spoken towards an estimate IN WRITING BEFORE authorization is given to begin the repairs.
