The (Paul Mitchell) Academy--NYC: a Paul Mitchell Partner school Complaint - Very Bad School
STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK -- This school has been a complete let down. It has not lived up to the promises that were made about the schooling, the extra curricular activities, the treatment of the students or even the housing. This school was chosen mostly because we were told they would have dorm rooms available. Ended up the building license was pulled and the dorms never finished. We were also told that they went into "the city" a lot to do hair and make up for fashion shows, plays, movies and other big events. In 6 months this has not happened once. Also, this is supposed to be a seven month program. We're now told that this class won't end until 7-1/2 to 8 months into it and can't even get a definite graduate date--6 months into it. One of the very worst issues is the very young teachers that make friends with some of the students and then take to having their favorites. They pick on the others for ridiculous little things, while letting their favorites get away with much worse issues. We were told that a professional attitude would be displayed and learned, but this is far from the case. If we could do this again, we would not choose this school. If anyone is looking for a good cosmetology school, keep looking. No matter what they tell you when you check it out here, it's pretty much not true at all, it's a lot of rhetoric and hype and a huge disappointment.
