Priceline Complaint - Do not book hotels at Priceline!!! I got screwed!
I indicated I was looking for a 4-star luxury hotel for a special occasion in NY and was willing to spend $305. They confirmed my bid for a hotel that, by any standards, is substandard and not 4-star. The hotel was not in line with any of the 4-star hotels they gave as examples and the reviews online concurred. I was taken advantage of - and they refused to do anything about it.
I spent half a day trying to get someone on the phone - but they make that near-impossible, with good reason. They hope you'll simply settle for what they give you and give up the good fight
After emailing twice, they finally sent me a customer service number. Andwhen I finally got someone on the phone, they refused to acknowledge that this was not a luxury hotel. In fact, they refused to deviate from their script about their non-cancellation, non-refundable policy.
So now I'm stuck for 4 days in a 2nd rate hotel, spending close to $1500. My advice to you: Do NOT allow Priceline to randomly select a hotel for you. It's likely you will not receive the quality you are expecting...or paying for! And they could care less. I'm boycotting Priceline - and I invite others to join.
