Verizon Wireless Complaint - Verizon = money-grubbing vultures
Verizon is willing to go to any lengths to keep from being fair.
I get very poor reception in my home and can hardly ever complete a phone call on my cell phone. I almost returned the Verizon phone within the 30 day period but a salesman convinced me that if I bought a booster I would be fine. I bought a booster I have had my Verizon account for 15 months and am finally getting out of the contract because my reception is so poor in my area. They have "offered" to sell me a wireless booster for $250, $200, $150 over these months.
Finally I got them to send someone out to my area to determine if I had adequate service, which I did not. I was told I could get out of the contract so I signed up with a cheaper service with the intent of using my cell only away from home.
As expected, Verizon still billed me for the termination fee. They also charged me for the full month of service even though my service with them terminated a full week before the end of the billing cycle.
I called and did get the termination fee refunded even though it had not been notated in my account that the person called me to tell me I could terminate. I also got the week of service refunded -- it appears I had to ask for it or they just would have kept it, just as they would have kept the $200 termination fee if I hadn't complained.
If you're doing business with Verizon, watch your back. They cheated a friend of mine out of $400 when his pin was hijacked.
